Christmas tour

Today I made my Christmas decorations. I know, a little late.. But with the making of my cake, I didn't really have much time to do anything Christmas related. Until yesterday, I didn't even had bought my boyfriend's gift !! Well, I don't feel really guilty for that one because I'm quite sure he bought mine today and its an improvement because every other years he waited until the 24th after working to shop for my gift !!

So here is a little tour of my Christmas decorations for this year. :)

So that was it for my 2012 Christmas decorations. Every year I try to add some stuff to the lot so hopefully one day my house will look perfect for Christmas!

My first Wedding Cake

It's been more than a week since I post anything on my blog. Sorry for that. But I had a good reason :). I was making my first wedding cake EVER. It wasn't an easy job but I did something I am very proud of and it's much better than I was expecting.

The order was for my colleague Paola. Three tier cake. White and champagne colour. With flowers and pearls. The cake was for around 60 people.

I used cake portions calculators that helped me find the right size for the layers. Earlene's Cake Serving Chart, Wilton's cake chart, also this cute chart that I found on Pinterest.

So I made a 10" square tier, 8" and 6" round tiers, which makes around 80 servings.

With no exaggeration, the ingredients costed more than 120$... Making cakes is a very expensive hobbit.. I spent the whole week making it. My 2 days off, plus every day after work until 11pm, even if I was working at 5am the next morning. I didn't count the time I putted on this cake but it would certainly be around 20. Of course it's my biggest project so far, and it was the first time I was using some techniques I learned for making greater cakes, but making a cake that big can not be done alone in a day for sure !

I made a lot of searching to make sure I did not overcharge or undercharge. I was very insecure and uncomfortable for the pricing, as she is my friend and I knew they did not have the biggest budget. One of my dear friend also makes fondant cakes and she used to charge 5$/portion. She advised me to do so, which made a total of 300$. I think it's a very reasonable price for a wedding cake, earring somes of my friends buying cakes for their wedding for more than 1 500$!

Will all of this work, I didn't even had the time to test my Christmas inspirational tips!! :(

Christmas Spirit 101

I just realized today is December 5th and I'm still not in a Christmas mood! UNACCEPTABLE! And I think I know why this situation got out of control! I DID NOT get myself one of those chocolate Christmas calendar!!!!

There is no doubt I've been very undisciplined this year and I am not proud of that ! I have to do everything in my power to change this inadmissible situation. 

For those who are also in my disgraceful position, I have found some tips to get into Christmas mode.

Start listening to Holiday songs

Go to the mall to enjoy all the festive atmosphere and see the decorations

Buy some Pillsbury Christmas cookies.

Fourth

Watch a Christmas movie

Make you Christmas Tree and Holiday decorations

Buy Glade's Holiday candles 

And if you are still not in a Christmas mood after all this, I am very sorry to tell you that you are a lost cause for this year, please try again in 2013......

For MY part, I'm trying those as soon as possible!!!

Proposal Mania

4 words. A knee on the ground. A small box that means everything. The smile on her face or the tears of joy on her cheeks. This moment, as soon as we fall in love with someone, we can't help but think about it. When you know he is the one and that you want to spend the rest of your life with him, you begin to wonder if he thinks the same, if you are THE ONE. 

Some girls are lucky. He asked before you even think about it. He knows before you do. Well, I am not one of these. I am the one who is waiting since I realized I don't need to look anymore. Since I know my boyfriend is my perfect match. And that was 3 years ago...

Yes, you read well, I have been waiting for this moment for 3 years. And still waiting... But I haven't given up and I know it's worth it. My respond to the proposal might be : "FINALLY!!"  instead of the usual " YES!!", but it still will be the most beautiful moment of my life.

During those 3 years of wait, I had to chance to imagine hundreds of way it could happen. Believe me, if I was the guy, I would do a hell of a good job with that task.

No matter the way it is done, it sure will be the best day of my life. But if I was him, I would do it like this ... as he has a renovation and painting company...

Coming back of the bachelorette party

Hello everyone! Remember that bachelorette party I had to organize on Friday night in a sexshop? Lets not forget I had 8 hours to find what to do with a bride-to-be knocked-up!!!
So what I did is a penis cake! As everyone know I love making cakes for ANY occasion, I couldn't come with empty hands.. It would have been so rude!!
I also prepared 3 great games that would collect some money to buy my friend Paola a gift from the shop! We played the games during the sextoy presentation, which was interrupting the girl all the time !! Pore woman...
First game: Pornstar names!! This was a lot of fun! We had to choose ourselves a pornstar name, that would stick with us the whole night! If anybody would call you your real name, that person had to put 25¢ in the pot ! I was Barbie, Paola was Sassy, we had a Lolita, a Kitty, a Belladonna, a Mercedes, a Candy, and much more! It was so hard to remember all the names as we were 16 girls!
Second game? I NEVER !! I would ring a bell every 5-10 minutes so Paola could pick a card with the name of one of us. That person had to tell a "I never" ( sex related) and people who would have done it had to drink her wine! We learned so many things that night. 2 of us did it with a girl! More then a half did it "from behind" ! At least, I was happy to see nobody EVER did a threesome with their boyfriend! No judgement there, but I'm a bit traditional for these stuff and I don't really get the girls who can share their boyfriends...
Third game-----> Paola&Dimitri Quiz! That was a another game I had to interrupt the presentation. Paola had to pick a girl who would draw a question from a bol. All questions were about Paola and Dimitri's relationship. If the girl had it wrong, she had to put 25¢ in the pot!!
We collected almost 50$ ! (People were pretty generous and put some dollars instead of 25¢. In the end, most people gave all the had! Paola bought an oil massage that tastes and smells cotton candy and a cute sexy outfit for the "after wedding" ;)

Bachelorette party....RUSH

My friend Paola is getting married in a couple of weeks! I have to mention she is a colleague and also that girls from job are all NOT invited because the wedding is during a saturday morning where EVERYBODY works ( breakfast restaurant........). They also planned the "reception" at a restaurant for LUNCH, as everybody works......

BUT*** with all that said, my colleagues and I had organized a "Sex Toy Presentation". Don't get me wrong, there will be no ACTUAL demonstration of the products at work!!! It's just a lady who comes and show the products from her erotic boutique. 

We've done this before, and it was so fun we decided to do it every year ! The party can be host at home but we all prefer to go at the boutique ( Sexy & company), which is GORGEOUS, bring some wine and have fun with the girls ! Here is some pictures of the shop.

So, as we were doing this activity anyway, we decided to combine it with Paola's bachelorette party ! Actually, I just learned that. I also learned that I'm the one responsible to organize it (of course)!!! And the party is ....TONIGHT !!!!

THING IS!!!!!! WHY IS PAOLA HAVING A WEDDING RUSH  in a couple of weeks??????

THE GIRL IS PREGNANT !!! 

WHAT kind of bachelorette party can it be?? No drinks for the lady of course..... No stripper as well.... It's kind of late to hire one and I don't think anybody is willing to pay for one. ( I also have a no stripper policy with my boyfriend and I want to stick with it....). I might have time to make a penis cake.... But I still have my sister's cake to make .... ARgggGGG SO short noticed ! I hate that !

So now I have to figure out what to do .... Wish me luck !

A piece of cake

I love making cakes. It's my new hobby. I would love to turn this into a potential business but for the moment, I just make cakes for people I know. You can see my creations by clicking here. I'm not there YET. I just wish I could have more time and occasions to make more of them. Unfortunately, I am not a work at home girlfriend.

This weekend is the birthday of my 2 wonderful stepsisters.

Laurence is turning 21( Blondy) and Audrey 19. I have to make them a beautiful cake!

It's cute, simple and fun! Maybe I will make another tier for more personalization, flowers or something... I haven't decided yet ! I usually go with the feeling at the moment ..

From once upon a time to and they lived happily ever after

Presently, I'm living a pretty normal life. What's a normal life will you ask? Well, first I am happily - not YET- married to my amazing boyfriend who sometimes makes me think I live in a fairytale! We have been together for more than 4 years.

I wouldn't share this with you if not relevant but my relationship is the TOP #1 SUBJECT  of this blog because I will explore the facets of a relationship taking it to the next level...ENGAGEMENT!!

I've been waiting for this moment for month now ! okay Years ... But this year is the year, my friends ! 

I won't tell you it was easy getting there. Yes, there were deception, angriness, sadness, which came with crying and fights, " almost breaking up" moments. Relationships are not only  coming with butterflies and rainbows... But you know what ? It's all worth it in the end.

There is something you need to know about me first, I am a wedding planner. It is not my everyday job yet, but I'm working on it! Actually, I want my first wedding to be MINE. Just because it's the best way to start since it's THE wedding you don't want to screw up! So I have to wait until Mister Slow-Mo gets ready to pop the question ...

POP ! I love popping things! Pop corn, Pop Tarts, cake Pops, Lolli Pops, Popsicles... And I am soOoooOooOoo ready to have a baby and send those " READY TO POP" invitations... I can't wait to get there with you guys. To share all the ups and downs of trying to get pregnant, BEING pregnant and all that comes with it and of corse, the " After the POP ". 

Unfortunately, we will broach this subject only after the wedding. There is a long way to get there. For the moment, I will share my ideas, which I will experience in a couple of years. 

So from the once upon a time, I will make you travel through the twists and turns of my dreams coming true, to the and they lived happily ever after. We will then continue the ride with my family to be adventures. 3 steps, 3 wonderful adventures to come.

   Hi everyone! My name is Mary ! 

It's been several weeks now that I've been thinking about making a blog. I was inspired by a lady who had the beautiful idea of a blog about her pregnancy ---Here is her blog for interested : littlebabygarvin.blogspot.com --- And there she is now, with a beautiful girl and she still makes some posts about being a mother. I am not THERE yet !! But that's not all there is to talk about and I DO have some great stories, ideas and talents to share.
